"The world appears to be less united than ever before. Although people claim that they want to be united, their actions often lead to further disunity. Nowadays, individuals are using the term "triggered" to silence others. They may say they are triggered when their feelings are hurt by something someone else has said. However, in reality, that is not being triggered. Triggers are events that occur when a veteran hears a loud bang, a trafficking victim smells a smell, or an abuse victim hears shouting. These triggers take them back to a source of trauma. Not agreeing with someone's point of view is not a source of trauma. This type of thinking prevents us from being unified. Therefore, I ask you, are you easily "triggered"?
